Welcome to VES Technothon 2026 — a 24-hour State-level Hackathon exclusively for Polytechnic Students, where ideas dare to begin. After three successful editions in 2023, 2024, and 2025, we are excited to expand to a state - level platform, providing opportunities to students across Maharashtra.
Building on our past successes, Technothon continues to be the epicenter of innovation for the diploma engineering community. Whether youre solving a real-world challenge, making a social impact, or creating something entirely new, VES Technothon 2026 is your आरंभ — your first step toward real change.

The Path to Victory: 9-Step Process

Team Formation
Collaborate and form your team, laying the foundation for a strong and diverse group of four members, including at least one female member and an optional Institutional Mentor.
Brainstorming & Problem Statement Selection
Engage in brainstorming sessions to select a challenge aligned with your team's interests and strengths from the provided problem statements.
Registration & Idea Submission
Register your team and submit your innovative idea in the specified format (PDF, PPT, or Video). Present your concept using the provided template for clarity.
Shortlisting & Presentation
Top 10 teams from each Problem Statement, based on their proposal in Idea Submission, would be invited virtually to present their idea to judges/problem-setters who will select the Grand Finalist teams with the most promising solutions for the grand finale round.
Announcement of Finalist Teams
Teams selected for the Grand Finale will be announced, marking the beginning of the development phase.
Development of the Product
Finalist Teams will develop their solutions, receiving virtual mentoring and periodic evaluations (virtually) to refine their projects before the Grand Finale.
The Grand Finale - 24-Hours Offline Hackathon
Immerse yourself in a 24-hour live hackathon at V.E.S. Polytechnic, Mumbai, collaborating, coding, and bringing your idea to life with fellow participants.
Final Project Presentation
Showcase your fully developed product to judges, demonstrating its functionality, impact, and innovation.
Announcement of the Winners
Celebrate the culmination of your efforts as winners are declared and recognized for their innovative solutions at the closing ceremony.

Participation Guidelines

01
Eligibility
- All diploma students pursuing a diploma in any stream of engineering are welcome to participate in VES Technothon 2026.
- Participants should be students of a affiliated polytechnic college in Maharashtra.
- Each team may have an optional institute mentor who must be a faculty member at the team's institution.

Team Formation
- College Consistency: All team members must belong to the same college. Inter-college teams are not permitted.
- Team Size: A team should comprise four members, including the team leader.
- Diversity Inclusion: At least one female member is mandatory on each team.
- These guidelines aim to foster a balanced and diverse participation experience for all teams at VES Technothon 2026.

Accommodation & Meals
Criteria:
- In-City Teams: Teams whose colleges are within a 7 km radius of the nearest Mumbai local train station.
- Out-City Teams: Teams whose colleges are beyond the 7 km radius from a Mumbai local train station and those from other districts of Maharashtra.
Accommodation:
- In-City Teams: Expected to report on the morning of the Grand Finale day. For example, if the Grand Finale starts on Saturday, teams should report on Saturday morning. Accommodation and meals during the 24-hour hackathon will be provided by us.
- Out-City Teams: Expected to arrive at the venue the night before the Grand Finale. For example, if the Grand Finale starts on Saturday morning, teams should report by Friday evening.Accommodation will be provided one night prior to the event and one night after the event, subject to their travel schedule.

Travel Allowance
Criteria:
- In-City Teams: We regret to inform you that the Travel allowance will not be provided.
- Out-City Teams: Reimbursement for to-and-fro tickets from the nearest railway station of their college to the nearest railway station of VES Polytechnic (2-Sleeper Class) will be provided. For example, if the nearest railway station is Pune, reimbursement for 2-Sleeper class tickets from Pune Station to Dadar Station will be issued.

Idea Submission & Presentation
- After your team finalizes a problem statement, it's time to submit your innovative idea. During registration, present your idea in the form of an abstract and proposal. Choose from the following formats for your submission:

- Video Presentation (highly encouraged for efficient comprehension of your proposed solution)

- To ensure a smooth submission, refer to the provided template for the PPT here.
- Unleash your creativity and communicate your solutions effectively to stand out in VES Technothon 2026, because what the world calls impossible, we call Round 1 submission!

- If selected for the Grand Finale, a 24-hour hackathon, teams are expected to turn their proposed solution and prototype into a working product.

- Prepare to bring your innovation to life during the Grand Finale and showcase your problem-solving prowess!

Selection for Grand Finale
- The problem setters will select finalist teams based on the following criteria:
Evaluation Criteria:
- Relevance and feasibility of the proposed solution to the problem statement.
- Innovation and creativity demonstrated in the presentation.
- Clarity of the problem statement and solution presented.
- Technical awareness for the proposal idea.
- Selected teams will advance to the Grand Finale, a 24-hour hackathon to develop their proposed solution.

After Being Selected for Grand Final
- If selected for the Grand Finale, a 24-hour hackathon, teams are expected to turn their proposed solution and prototype into a working product.
- Participants are encouraged to have a substantial portion of their proposed solution implemented before the event.
- Prepare to bring your innovation to life during the Grand Finale and showcase your problem-solving prowess!

Documents for Finalist Teams
- College Identity Cards of individual team members.
- Any Government ID Card of individual team members.
- A consent form duly filled by individual team members (to be shared with the selected teams).
- Participation confirmation letter from the college authority on official letterhead (one per team).

Winning Criteria
- Each Problem Statement can result in different outcomes, decided by the Problem Setter:
- Winner: Awarded to the team with the best solution/product addressing the problem statement.
- Joint Winners: If two teams independently develop and present identical solutions/products, both share the victory.
- No Winners: Declared if none of the solutions effectively solve the problem.
Evaluation Aspects:
- Novelty of the idea
- Complexity of the solution
- Clarity and details presented in the prescribed format
- Feasibility of the proposed solution
- Practicability and sustainability of the developed product
- Scale of impact
- User experience
- Potential for future work progression
