Eligibility
● All students pursuing a diploma in any stream of engineering are welcome to participate in Technothon 2025.
● Participants should be students of a registered polytechnic college in Maharashtra.
● Each team may have an optional institute mentor who must be a faculty member at the team's institution.

Team Formation
To ensure fair competition and collaboration, please adhere to the following guidelines for team composition:
● College Consistency: All team members must belong to the same college. Inter-college teams are not permitted.
● Team Size: A team should comprise four members, including the team leader.
● Diversity Inclusion: At least one female member is mandatory on each team. These guidelines aim to foster a balanced and diverse participation experience for all teams at Technothon 2025.

Travel, Accommodation Meals
Criteria:-
● In-City Teams:Teams whose colleges are within a 7 km radius of the nearest Mumbai local train station.
● Out-City Teams:Teams whose colleges are beyond the 7 km radius from a Mumbai local train station and those from other districts of Maharashtra.
Accommodation:-
● In-City Teams:Expected to report on the morning of the Grand Finale day. For example, if the Grand Finale starts on Saturday, teams should report on Saturday morning. Accommodation and meals during the 24-hour hackathon will be provided by us.
● Out-City Teams:Expected to arrive at the venue the night before the Grand Finale. For example, if the Grand Finale starts on Saturday morning, teams should report by Friday evening.Accommodation will be provided one night prior to the event and one night after the event, subject to their travel schedule.

Travel Allowance:-
● In-City Teams: We regret to inform you that the Travel allowance will not be provided.
● Out-City Teams:Reimbursement for to-and-fro tickets from the nearest railway station of their college to the nearest railway station of VES Polytechnic (2-Sleeper Class) will be provided. For example, if the nearest railway station is Pune, reimbursement for 2-Sleeper class tickets from Pune Station to Dadar Station will be issued

Idea Submission & Presentation
After your team finalizes a problem statement, it's time to submit your innovative idea. During the registration, present your idea in the form of an abstract and proposal. Choose from the following formats for your submission:
● PDF / PPT
● Video Presentation (highly encouraged for efficient comprehension of your proposed solution)

Initial Shortlisting
Top 10 Teams per problem statement based on their Idea submission proposal will be shortlisted for the next round. In the next round, you will be expected to present your idea virtually to the Judge/Problem setters, preferably along with a prototype. During this virtual presentation on Google Meet, ensure that all team members are present with their cameras on. You will present your solution, preferably with a prototype to the problem setters, who will evaluate your idea based on how well it aligns with the problem statement.
Selection for the Grand Finale:
The problem setters will select the finalist teams based on the following criteria:
● Relevance and feasibility of the proposed solution to the problem statement.
● Innovation and creativity demonstrated in the presentation.
● Clarity of the problem statement and solution presented.
● Technical awareness for the proposal idea.
If your team is further selected, you will advance to the Grand Finale, where you will have the opportunity to develop your proposed solution during the 24-hour hackathon.

After Being Selected for Finale
If your team is selected for The Grand Finale, a 24-hour Hackathon, you are expected to turn your proposed solution and prototype into a working product. We encourage participants to have a substantial portion of their proposed solutions implemented, transforming concepts into tangible products during the event.

Documents for Finalist
● College Identity Cards of individual team members.
● Any Government ID Card of individual team members.
● A consent form duly filled by individual team members (to be shared with the selected team).
● Participation confirmation letter from the college authority on college letterhead (one per team).

Winning Criteria
Each Problem Statement can result in different outcomes, and the determination lies with the Problem Setter. Here are the possible scenarios:
● Winner: Awarded to the team with the best solution/product among competitors addressing the same Problem Statement.
● Joint Winners: If two teams independently develop and present identically similar solutions/products, they both share the victory.
● No Winners: Declared if the problem setters find that none of the developed products effectively solve the provided problem.
The evaluation criteria encompass various aspects, and not limited to:
- Novelty of the idea
- Complexity of the solution
- Clarity and details presented in the prescribed format
- Feasibility of the proposed solution
- Practicability and sustainability of the developed product
- Scale of impact
- User experience
- Potential for future work progression

What will be the mode of Technothon 2025?
Technothon 2025 will follow a hybrid format. Registration and idea submission must be completed online through the website. Shortlisting & Presentation will be conducted virtually. For teams reaching the grand finale, Mentoring Round 1 and Evaluation Round 1 will also be virtual. The 24-hour grand finale hackathon will be hosted offline at VES Polytechnic College. Please refer to the Get in Touch section for the address.

Who is the organizer of Technothon 2025?
Technothon 2025 is organized by Vivekanand Education Society’s Polytechnic in association with VESP Alumni Association and IIC Cell.

Do I need to pay any registration fees?
No, there are no registration fees. You just need to come with your innovation; your accommodation and food during the Grand Finale are all on us.

How do we form a team?
All team members should be from the same college; no inter-college teams are allowed. The team should comprise four members and include a minimum of one female member. Additionally, you can consider one optional Institute Mentor.

Will I be getting travel reimbursement?
Please refer to the section of Travel, Accommodation, Meals in the Guidelines for detailed information about the same.

Will I get anything even if I don’t win?
Yes, all applicants will receive an E-Certificate, and Grand Finalist teams will grab a participation certificate along with valuable learning experiences from participating in a hackathon.

What happens to the solutions developed by the winning team?
Solutions, whether hardware or software, prepared by the winning team will be owned by the organizers/problem setters. This ensures collaboration and opens up opportunities for further development beyond the challenge.

Can the winning team retain any rights to their solution after the challenge?
The organizers will retain ownership of the winning team's solutions. However, they may discuss collaboration opportunities and potential future involvement of the winning team in the development or implementation process.

Is participation in Technothon open to Polytechnic colleges located outside the Mumbai region?
Yes, as Technothon evolves into a state-level hackathon, teams from polytechnic colleges across Maharashtra are encouraged to participate. Details regarding criteria for in-city and out-city teams, along with accommodation facilities, are outlined in the "Out-City and In-City Teams" section of the Guidelines.

Can the same team submit multiple problem statements or multiple solutions for the same problem statement?
Yes, a single team can apply for multiple problem statements across different segments: PS-Based, Technothon For Cause, and Open Innovation. However, submitting multiple solutions for the same problem statement from the same team is not allowed. Additionally, students applying for multiple problem statements should maintain the same team for all their applications. In the event that a team gets shortlisted for multiple problem statements or segments, they will have the opportunity to choose which problem statement they wish to pursue during the Grand Finale round.
